Stones are set into the wax mold before casting. Molten silver flows around the stones when cast. No post-cast setting needed.

Cost: $0.008-0.015/stone vs $0.05-0.08/stone by hand, saves 80%.

Limitations

Works: CZ, corundum, glass (heat-resistant). Not: natural gemstones, pearls, opal (heat cracks). Size: stones under 2mm only.

Best Combo

Use wax setting for pave bands and tennis bracelets, hand setting for the main stone. Total setting cost drops 60%.
